FAQs About Trading On Gate.io

You guys might immediately want to join the game but there are a number of questions that would bother you when it comes to trading on the exchange. We had made the list ready to arm you with basic knowledge before rolling in on gate.io. Let’s screen down through it!
- How to create an account on gate.io?

3. How many Cancel Settings?
There are three cancel settings you can choose from, Auto-replace, IOC(immediate or cancel), and Cancel After (cancel after a set interval).
Auto-replace: when the time condition order is triggered and all the other conditions are met, the previous open order this conditional order placed will be canceled and a new order will be placed instead.
IOC(immediate or cancel): In the case a time condition order is triggered and a limit order is placed, the order must be filled immediately at the limit price or better only. If the order cannot be filled immediately or fully (i.e. only partially filled), the unfilled portion will be canceled.
Cancel After (Auto-Cancel after a set interval):
User sets a value as the cancel interval,specifying how long will wait before it cancel the unfilled order portion after time condition order is triggered and this limit order is placed. The cancel interval must be less than the trigger interval.
4. Do I need Fund password when place order?
When you place an order, fund password may be required, which is a password for trading and withdrawing only.
If you forgot it, you may reset it with your email. Settings> Change fund password.
Once entered it correctly, you do not have to enter it again for next order for 2 hours as long as the IP of your network connection does not change.
5. Why my asset is locked?
When you place a limit order, your order may not fill immediately if there are no opposite matching order on the market. And the asset in the open order is Locked, which is not available to trade or withdraw.
If the order keeps Open for long time, you may want to cancel it to release the locked asset to available balance. You can access Open Orders page to cancel it.

6. What is minimum order size?
The minimum order size is about 1 USD in value for all trading pairs. For specific amount for a given pair, you may check it with Market Info API. Go to API Document at the bottom of Gate.io website and you can see it.
7. My deposit/withdrawal is in verifying status, how long will it take?
Such transaction will be processed a while later after security review. It may take 0.5 to a few hours in general.

8. My eth/etc and other ERC20 token addresses are the same?
You may have noticed that your ETH/ETC and other ERC-2O deposit addresses are the same on your gate.io account.
This design is aimed to avoid mistakes users might make when they send transactions. If you accidentally access to ETC page to generate your deposit address and send your ETH to that address, you can still receive your ETH smoothly.
What you need to do is simply access to ETH deposit page to generate the deposit address.
